Rado was established in Switzerland in 1917. Always a creative brand, Rado’s philosophy throughout their illustrious history is “if we can imagine it, we can make it” In 1962 they created a niche position within the market when they created the first ever scratch resistant wrist watch, the DiaStar. The brand was a pioneer for ceramic cased watches winning multiple innovation and design awards along the way. In 1990 Rado introduced the Ceramica, the first watch with a case and bracelet made entirely of ceramic. Their use of injection moulding allowed them to create the head and bracelet as a single entity. Today the brand has an eclectic range of contemporary and classic style watches suitable for all tastes and budgets. Most recently the Captain Cook dive watch, first available in 1962, was reintroduced to the catalogue to much acclaim. If you require a great looking, robust, carefree, everyday timepiece that will look as good in 20 years’ time as it does the day it was bought then Rado watches are for you.
